Is August the Ultimate Birthday Month?

Is August the Ultimate Birthday Month?

After wrapping up my latest commission, I’ve had the joy of diving into several exciting projects in the past few weeks. Here’s a sneak peek at what I’ve been working on:

Birthday Cards

Did you know that August has one of the highest birth rates of any month? I’m a little envious—February birthdays like mine (shoutout to fellow Aquarians!) don’t get the same buzz. This month, I’ve created four custom birthday cards, each hand-painted with care. Below, you’ll find a glimpse of one of the designs inspired by Vincent Van Gogh’s artwork, a piece that continues to spark creativity in my studio. It's a vase with Gladioli and Chinese Asters. Gladioli are August flowers.

Here's the palette I used for it:

Thank you Cards

I wanted to express my gratitude to a few special people in my life, and what better way to say thank you than through art? I painted their dogs! It was a fun challenge capturing each pup’s unique personality, and I’m excited to share the results with you. Jasper is a Pitbull and black Lab mix and Chloe is a long-haired chihuahua.

New Stationery Collections

Between painting sessions and weekend breaks, I’ve been hard at work on two upcoming stationery collections. One is perfect for the fall season—think cozy Thanksgiving vibes and playful Halloween designs.

The other is a wedding collection that I’m particularly excited about. Here’s a little preview of my drafts—stay tuned for more as these collections take shape!

Recipe Card

Here’s something personal! My boyfriend and I love to cook together, and we thought, why not combine our passions for art and food? We’ve been working on a custom recipe card for one of our go-to tomato sauces. This was the initial color palette:

And Lastly, New Commissions

Exciting news—I’ve recently welcomed two new clients into the studio! One commission is for a large pet portrait (my specialty!) and the other is for a serene landscape painting. I’m wrapping up my previous commission and eager to dive into these new projects. It’s going to be a busy and fulfilling month ahead.

Stay tuned for more updates and behind-the-scenes looks at my process. I’ll be sharing my progress on social media as well, so don’t forget to follow along. Thank you for being part of this journey with me!
